Why is the redistribution of wealth "good"?
It is because there is a difference of $7,000 between the mean and median salary in the country. This means that the people middle class (the median) have 7,000 extra dollar taken away from them because the majority of the wealth is held by the top 0.9% of the population. This skews the data to the right by a lot. Statistically, this makes America appear much richer than it actually is. You seriously want the CEO's of top companies to take $7,000 out of every person in the middle class's salaries, so they can be richer? We're actually moving away from Obama's intended direction, and Obama has little control over these types of things: it's the House of Representatives and the corporations themselves that have the power in this case. Do you know why so many people once believed in the "American Dream" and why there are so many immigrants coming from developing foreign countries? It is because we have better distribution of income: less distance between the rich and the poor, and a person's future is less determined by the class they were born into. Still, the rest of the world has it much better, but we are still moving towards the direction of Mexico...
